European Guarantees of Origin were stable May 9, while current CP UK Renewable Guarantees of Origin gained.

The EuGOs market has been bearish, with market sources citing the extension of redemption deadlines across a number of member countries as a major factor.

However, GO prices were steady across vintages during trading hours May 9, following stability in heard bid and offer ranges.

Platts assessed Nordic hydro 2024 unchanged at Eur1/MWh, with 2025 and 2026 also stable at Eur1.83/MWh and Eur2.07/MWh, respectively.

UK REGOs for non-bio CP-23 increased slightly on a higher bid amid tight availability.

Initial results for the 12th CP-22 REGO auction hosted by e-Power were reported by sources around GBP13.5/MWh for hydro, wind and solar technologies, and GBP12.6/MWh for biomass certificates.

“I thought due to the lack of volume we might see some higher prices,” a consultant said regarding sluggish price movement.

Platts assessed non-bio CP-23 at GBP8.7/MWh and bio CP-23 at GBP8.2/MWh, each GBP0.1/MWh higher on the day.
